(870405) The Mustard Seed and the Leaven “The Crooked Made Straight” Luke 13:10-17: Satan makes people crooked. Jesus makes them straight. (870329) The Crooked Made Straight “The Parable of the Barren Fig Tree” Luke 13:6-9: The fig tree is a symbol of national Israel. Israel has been fruitless toward God. (870322) The Barren Fig Tree “Repentance is Necessary” Luke 13:1-5: No one can be saved unless he repents. What is repentance? It is not penance, neither is it penitence. It is a God produced change of mind about Christ that results in a change in behavior. (870315) Repentance is Necessary “Divisions Caused by Jesus” Luke 12:49-56: Three things divide people: 1) The Cross of Christ. 2) The Rapture of the Church. 3) The Judgment of God. (870308)) Divisions Caused by Jesus “Be Prepared” Luke 12:32-48: The “Little Flock” addressed by Jesus were already in the spiritual aspect of His kingdom and yet Jesus said, “It is my Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” They died before the kingdom came. Worldliness is more than most people think. (870201) The Parable of the Rich Fool “The Sign of Jonah” Luke 11:29-36: It is worldly and carnal to seek after any further signs. Jonah was a type of Jesus in His burial and His resurrection. (870104) The Sign of Jonah “Lessons from Jesus” Luke 12:1-12: His lessons here are: Shun hypocrisy. Fear God. Confess Christ.
